Not long after our purchase offer for the Neil Avenue house was accepted, we were in Barnes & Noble and came across a book from the Images of America series titled The Ohio State University Neighborhoods.  (Click on the photo for the link)

We have read a number of the books from this series over the years, including several which focus on Columbus and its past.  These books are always packed with historic photos and Rob started flipping through this particular one, joking that he might find a picture of "our" house.

AND THERE IT WAS!

What are the chances?  Now we have the opportunity to know a great deal more about what is actually original to the home, who designed it, and who had it built.

The photo came from the Columbus Public Library archives, so we plan to do further research there, as well as to consult with the preservation experts at the Ohio Historical Society.
